Scientists Developed Instant Artificial Blood Substitute

Scientists Developed Instant Artificial Blood Substitute

Romanian Scientists from the land of Dracula have succeeded to make breakthrough in their efforts to make artificial blood.

It comes as no surprise that this new innovation comes from a country whose Transylvanian region is famous around the globe for being connected with blood sucking vampires. Scientists have said that they are about to take on with human trials after conducting experiments on mice for past 6 years.

So called artificial blood is a mixture of water, salt and Hemerythrin, a protein extracted from sea worms. Hemerythrin is the distinguishing feature between this experiment and earlier tries of making artificial blood as earlier attempts used hemoglobin, a red cell protein for transfer of oxygen.

Hemoglobin was not a success in earlier attempts because it failed to bear the stress caused when injected into an organism. After getting a nod from national authorities, Romanian scientists are going to start human trials. They have claimed that after complete success this innovation shall be provided in market in the form of “instant blood” which can be converted into real blood by simply mixing it with water.
